Hello everyone,
I am a university student who has recently started working part time in embedded systems. I had been trying to understand my company's ESP32 codes. Unfortunately I cannot build the codes because of "fatal error: No such file or directory" error. I shared the full error message in the attachment.
Please let me know if you need to know anything further. I am quite new at this, so I am not sure what to add. But, I would like to give a list of cases in which I faced the issue, and what I tried in each case:
- In Windows 10, using VSCode's esp-idf extension: I deleted and reinstalled esp-idf and its tools. I tried with v5.0.0 of esp idf and v4.4.3 of it. I tried versions from both Espressif and Github. I manually changed the environment variables both for user and the system following the Espressif documentation. I tried to manually download the requirements for the use of idf.py as well. Finally, I deleted and reinstalled VSCode itself. Before this error, I had faced many errors in this setting as well, so I decided to try building the code on Ubuntu.
- In Ubuntu 22.04.01 LSB with both VSCode and with "idf.py build". I tried all the things as Windows 10 case. Initially, I was getting the same error for "esp_event.h" library. However, upon changing from v5.0.0 to master branch the error changed to the one in the attachment(for "esp_wifi.h").
The code with its CMakeLists, its custom libraries, and other details obviously builds with no issues in developers' computers. So, this should not be a code related issue.
Note: The blacked parts in the error message is just folder names involving the company name. Although, I don't think it would be an issue; just in case I blurred them.
PS. If this question is not appropriate for this forum, I am really sorry. In that case, please direct me in the right direction.
