Hey guys,
currently I try to flash an ESP-S3-WROOM-1 (soldered on a plain PCB breakout board).
Unfortunately with limited success...
My wiring looks as follow:
All GNDs -> Battery -
3V3 -> Battery +
EN -> pulled high, with help of a 10kOhm resistor connected to Battery +
IO0 -> pulled low, connected to GND
IO19 -> USB_D-
IO20 -> USB_D+
What I have observed, that the S3 does not even enter download mode nor standard boot mode, while IO0 is pulled down. So in other words: if I pull down IO0 the S3 does not start at all. My osci does not show any consumption then...
Did I forget something?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

When you connect D+/- your OS should detect new device. Its not important if new device will install proper driver, but new device should be detected. If its not, then you should check wiring.

You don't have a power-on-reset circuit. Add an 100n to 1uF capacitor from EN to ground. Also, what voltage is 'battery +'?
