Hello Espressif Team & Community,
Hope you all are doing fine!
I was working around the ESP32 S3 Chip and for my project, the memory requirements are as follows:
1. Flash - 512 MB or 4 Gb
2. PSRAM - 16 MB or 128 Mb
As per the datasheet and HW design guidelines notes, memory interface can either be on QUAD SPI or OCTAL SPI.
Based on this, I had a few queries:
1. Regarding External PSRAM
- As per my search, I was able to find the ESP PSRAM of maximum size 64 Mb. This IC has a QUAD SPI Interface.
Datasheet Link: https://www.espressif.com/sites/default ... eet_en.pdf
- Can you please share the datasheet for the 128 Mb PSRAM chip? I wasn't able to find one online.
2. Regarding Octal & Quad SPI Interface
- Can I interface two different memory interfaces types to the S3 chip?
- Meaning RAM with Octal SPI and Flash with Quad SPI?
- Currently all Flash IC (Winbond / GigaDevices, etc. vendors) chip for my required size have QUAD SPI interface.
- While the RAM chips I looked for from other vendors had Octal SPI support.
- I know, ESP32 S3 chips currently does not support external vendor RAM but if I go only by the interface, will a Flash on Quad SPI and PSRAM on Octal SPI support work with the S3 chip?

Re: ESP32 S3 - Memory Interface | External Flash IC & PSRAM IC
I can't help you, but sounds like a great project may i ask in what application are those specs used?
