IDP.Generic

Postby ESPcx32 » Thu Jul 21, 2022 11:28 pm

<r>Been using Arduino product for years. Few months ago acquired ESP32 & ESP8266 boards. Like the small form factor.
Been programming the the ESP8266 for 2 months using Arduino (Win 7).
Yesterday Arduino prompt to upgrade IDE 2.0 RC to 2.0.0-rc9. Regular IDE does not work either for same reason.
Did the upgrade and verified/compiled code was working on for 2 days.
My AVG flagged file "xtensa-lx106-elf-g++.exe" as having the IDP.Generic virus. Quarantined that file.
Not been able to use Arduino since. Error the elf-g++ file does not exists (its quarantined)
Contacted Arduino and they stated that file is a 3rd party file (from you).
Ran that file through VirusTotal and it found nothing wrong.

Question: Did AVG false flag that OR ???
Is there an alternative to NOT using that file in programming ESP boards in Arduino?
Can you supply a file that will not be flagged by AVG?
