I am using code from https://randomnerdtutorials.com/esp8266-web-server/
this is my first post

I have a problem with a new router (eero) that will not connect to esp8266 D1 Mini or esp07., but is fine with old router.
the only change being ssid & password
i am trying to connect to 192.168.0.xxx
I have been talking to eero support and they have asked..
"if there's a designated port number required and protocol (TCP/UDP or both) and you need to confirm with them if you are using the right code for this device based on its use. "
I know this is a router issue but dont know how to fix.
I hope you can help me with this issue

I'm assuming you have the correct SSID and password in the code for the Eero router. The next thing I'd check... is the router set up to accept 2G connections? The ESP8266 will not connect to 5G networks. If that is set correctly, try returning the value of the connecting status. In the code...

Code: Select all

while (WiFi.status() != WL_CONNECTED) {
delay(500);
Serial.print(".");
}
... print out the value of WiFi.status(). There are several return values that might indicate your problem.
