Re: [Documentation Release] PCB of ESP32 Module
So ESP31 vs ESP32
Pins 36-45 are different pinout, mostly just rearranged.
ESP32 loses Vdigital supply input which is used for digital IO logic levels? Instead is combined with Vpll? Or Vcore?
ESP32 gains GPIO23 pin @ pin #42
No labels for RTC_GPIO pins yet? Pins 10 & 11?
GPIO #1 is mirrored on two pins but alternate functions are different?

Re: [Documentation Release] PCB of ESP32 Module
Which of the serial pins are the I2C pins?
Re: [Documentation Release] PCB of ESP32 Module
Hi Rudi,
yes. its interface to Ethernet PHY, and i know than everyone here is more in WIFI direction as connectivity, however i do see the big change from 8266 to ESP32 in wired interface. I am just curious a bit about the wiring, because on RMII PCB layout you do need to watch more things (for example lengths of the wires should not differ) and on the module it does not look like you can use the GPIO to connect PHY. For sure its not as critical as on Gigabit PHY, but anyway.
The Espressif letter about ESP32 talks explicitly about RMII, so probably we do need to wait for the official datasheet release to know that for sure. It would be just interesting to know it a bit earlier .

hi, fine, you are registered and here now.Squonk wrote:..Same for rudi
hope you get the beta or the next. think, it will be silent over christmas time, but after think here and there are the first trial projects. what is your most interesst to do with the esp32 Squonk? my interesst is the adc/dac, eMMC, RMII and crypt, there are specials on esp32.. i search at time for this my Loganalyzer's are searching
..unboxing vid is done, one soldering and install / toolchain, ide and so on developings software follows, but then next time we do more important things that are very promising. hope we can push the esp32 approximate and figure it all out.
@pseliger
yes - think there comes documents next time like esp8266.
we try in the meantime.
good cooperation!
best wishes

Re: [Documentation Release] PCB of ESP32 Module
Just to answer my own question: the I2C pins can be mapped to any GPIO with the GPIO mux, which is not yet documentedMarsWarrior wrote:Which of the serial pins are the I2C pins?
Re: [Documentation Release] PCB of ESP32 Module
this is fine Alberto, do you work on it?pighixxx wrote: I have all documentation & infos from Espressif and this weekend I'm study well
are the documents "free" if so, can u send it with pm over forum?
In the meantime:
we have big difference pin in your Pinouts ESP31 ./. ESP32 at PIN36
is this pin in ESP32 only VDD CPU?
in ESP31 is it named muxed with more peripherials.
Pins 37 - 42 are difference from ESP31 to ESP32
would fine if we can controll this by documents too
so we can exclude transmission errors.
and here a little: best wishes!

The PCB layout file (.pcb) is in PADS format. You can get a free viewer at http://www.mentorgraphics.com.

Hi All,
I could not found datasheet of ESP32.
Please tell me the link, so I can download datasheet of ESP32.
