Mystery AT+BTCFMREQ response

As part of classic pairing I am getting an undocumented response
AT+BTCFMREQ=0,"xx:xx:xx:xx:xx"
Any ideas of what this is? I reply with
AT+BTSECCFM=0,1
But pairing is not successful.
