ESP-IDF Extension for VSCode 404 Errors

Hi,
Long time user of VSCode and long time programmer of various micros - AVR, Pico, ESP8266.
Picked up two ESP32-C6 Dev modules with a view to Zigbee development.
Searched for the ESP-IDF extension in VSCode and found that most of the links on the "Install" page return 404 errors.
Went to idf.espressif.com and navigated to the "VScode Extension" link and get a similar result. They all point to a URL similar to "https://github.com/espressif/vscode-esp ... install.md" which, as far as I can tell, doesn't exist.
If I look at the Ratings link in the Extensions Marketplace, the replies from Espressif Systems all point to the same location.
So I installed and configured the extension anyway (which appeared to complete successfully) and attempted to build the Blink example and it failed. I didn't bother looking too hard at the errors yet as it seems that there may be a more fundamental issue which I need to resolve.
Do "https://github.com/espressif/vscode-esp ... sion/blob/...." style URLs exist at present?
I would prefer to use VSCode on Windows but I'm happy to switch to Linux and/or Eclipse if there is another environment which works out of the box?
Thanks,
Paul.
