Espressif-IDE confusion and installation issues

Having exhausted my efforts at successfully compiling an example project from C:\Espressif\frameworks\esp-idf-v5.2\examples\wifi\wifi_eap_fast according to the documentation, I finally wrote my first report on this topic on this blog, relented and went to bed. Subsequent to a full night sleep on the apparently intractable problem of coercing "New Launch Target" to change from "Local" to something else, I am detailing what else I have discovered regarding the issue.
