not seeing errors on editor

using vs code extension 1.6.3 with idf 5.0.1
i have one project which doesn't show errors

and another project which shows them , i've compared both settings and they are identical, not sure what's going on here

This looks like a settings issue. Please make sure your compiler path and IntelliSense mode are set correctly in .vscode/c_cpp_properties.json

If they are indeed the same, maybe try to refresh your IntelliSense from VsCode Command Palette with "C/C++: Reset IntelliSense Database" or try to rebuild the project it my refresh any stale metadata which my be causing the issue.

there are few problems with new project created with esp-idf, one is that it uses always uses a bad problem matcher in the buiild
