Awesome. Will definitely go that route if I need more after testing. Thanks for the advice.
Is anyone here experienced with flashing a ESP32-MeshKit-Light with new firmware like described by me-no-dev?
I'd love to have someone give me a short description of the steps you'd go through.
Would it look something like this?
1. Compile ESP-MDF firmware
2. Put firmware on Android device
3. Open firmware file within ESP mesh app
4. Select Mesh bulb from list to flash via OTA
5. Success

Re: Meshkit-light video example explanation wanted
Still wondering if someone has experience or an example to flash a light via OTA.
Re: Meshkit-light video example explanation wanted
I went ahead and ordered 5 bulbs.
I will attempt to figure it out myself, but still would really like to hear from someone.
How would I go about flashing my own firmware? If it uses OTA, can I just post my compiled firmware to the bulb directly somehow without the app?

Hi jwktje,
I suggest to update the bulbs' firmware via the app. It's easy and won't need to destroy the bulbs.
You can refer to this https://github.com/espressif/esp-mdf/tr ... opment_kit chapter 6 firmware update.
Attention, we add a checkout that only the firmware compiled by MDF will be accepted by the MDF devices, to avoid user updating a wrong firmware.
