I am making a hobby project which requires various IC's in different packages. Some are SOP-23-5, or TSSOP or DFN or QFN. Now that I want to test these in my table top circuit, these are too small to solder and even hold :o :( , some as small as 2 or 3 mm. Where can i find sockets which hold these. I looked at evaluation board but those are very expensive, each is over a hundred dollars. Is there a cheaper solution to this?

I created my own PCB for the same purpose. 5*5cm PCB are very cheap at most manufacturers.

I keep a supply of various breakouts like this:

https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss ... n+breakout

And:

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R ... t&_sacat=0

You can get them for basically every chip package and many of them are designed to work for a range of pin counts.

If you buy a handful of sizes you have a lot of flexibility.
