Can you also say what the issue was and what the solution was? It's a bit frustrating if someone from the future has a similar issue and just reads 'CLOSED" here instead of what you ran into.

Sorry about that! I really wanted to delete the post because I felt it was a silly issue.
Issue: UART FIFO getting random pieces of data leftover.
Reason: I was using IO pins that JTAG uses.
