WiFi init from NV parameters

I am running the Smart Config example.

I can configure and connect to WiFi using the ESPConfig app but re booting the ESP32 board does not automatically reconnect.

I am trying to debug but cant find information on:
NV keys used for WiFi config ( I'd like to read the NV Flash and see what is/was stored ) is there and documentation on the key pairs used?

Should the example reconnect? Any clues on how to get this working?

The documentation could do with some serious work! Google searches point to V1.0 of the API docs and attempts to get to V3.0-rc version result in broken links.

Is there any more in-depth stuff about how the API's are to be used available?
