ESP32-P4, so close to the golden goose

IMHO, the ESP32-P4 is so close to being the golden goose of micros. I love so much about this one. I just wished you would have thrown in the Wi-Fi and BT as well. Then we would finally have a very well rounded micro to cover all the bases for just about any product design.

Something something roadmap.

EDIT: Also, once production has properly spun up, our intention is to make it really easy to couple the P4 with another chip (e.g. a C2) and use its WiFi/BT as if it was integrated into the P4.

It works (SDIO) perfectly with the C6 on the ESP32-P4 Function EV board. I'm thrilled how well it works and I'm very excited about what's to come - the P4 is a real gem! I honestly wouldn't have thought until I could test it. This not only stimulates the appetite - very good work - you also have to praise it :)

Concerning all the menuconfig options for Wi-Fi and BT. Where does one tweak those options at on the C6 ?

You'd rebuild the C6 firmware with those options, then reflash the C6. I think we are working on a SDIO variant of esp-serial-flasher, so you should even be able to integrate the C6 firmware into an P4 OTA update and update both firmwares at the same time.

update both firmwares at the same time.
This would be good. Especially if I don't need to keep the firmware binary stored on the P4.

The P4 does have some awesome specs that is for sure!
But to not have thrown wifi and BT under the same hood seems a bit short sighted IMHO.
Then again, it probably was done on purpose cuz now you would need to buy 2 ESP devices to get those features ;)

Hi,
please dont get me wrong, esp32-p4 ev board is awesome devkit, but there is "missing" one tiny thing.
Flat ribbon to pin header, so we could make use of all pins when we dont want to use display and/or camera.

right, i missed this too, a check, this could be make one simple ... lookup in the docs what connector it is and size
and we do a "flat ribbon to pin head adapter" by self on JLCPCB for everyone.
