Feasibility of capturing a video signal from an old automotive driver board

Postby squadbob » Sun Jun 30, 2024 7:07 pm

Hi,
so I have this old automotive display driver board here. This thing has a DS90CR216 chip on board which converts an incoming LVDS data stream into CMOS/TTL data. Which is parallel RGB from my understanding.
Now I have seen some project with LCDs and Cameras with the ESP32 before and I was wondering if it is somehow possible to remove the LCD from that driver board and capture the video signal straight from the LCD connector. And then maybe stream the video signal to a different linux device.
Is something like this possible/feasible with an esp32?

The resolution of the display is 400x240
The avaible pins on the LCD connector look something like this. I can go into more detail if needed.
pwr/gnd
5x blue data signal
6x green data signal
5x red data signal
Vsync/Hsync/Clock/ENAB
