Flash Encryption & Secure Boot

Right now I have steered away from these feature, because of a) the hassle and b) the downsides involved with regards to development.
I wonder how many of you – with commercial devices in production – are actually using flash encryption and/or secure boot.
Do you think it's worth the effort? If not, what are you doing to protect against a) using your firmware on cheap clones or b) using your hardware with 3rd party firmwares?
