Solder external antenna on ESP32 chip

There are some "hacks" around, how to increase the wifi range of esp chips. One of those, is
this here with a esp8266. Basically i want to do the same with a esp32.
So my questions:
1. Can is just remove the
black cap to get to the antenna? Or do i destroy something?
2. where exactly do i have to cut the pcb?

I guess you could cut just above the gold testpoint nearest the center and solder there. Or you could buy wipy or esp32-bit.

Just so I'm right: I cut above those two gold dots, connect them und wire the antenna on those two + on the chip (like on the esp8266 example)? I already have some 'normal' ESP32 breakout boards here dusting in my drawer, so i don't want to buy new ones only for that.

No don't connect them the centermost one is antenna and the outer one is ground. The braid is soldered to the metal can for strength.

Hi friend!:
Could you do the conversion of the pcb antenna to external antenna? I am about to perform the conversion.
I'll appreciate your answer . Best regards
