MSYS Issues - cygheap base mismatch detected
Posted: Tue Nov 21, 2017 10:15 am
Last week after a windows 10 update MSYS started to fail.
After one reboot I was able to run "make monitor" again, but bash failed:
After the second reboot things are back to normal.
I'd like to know if this will happen again? Does anyone know a permanent fix?
This post seems to know more about it but I dont really see a permanent fixhttps://stackoverflow.com/a/9707777/1236798

I tried downloading MSYS again, that didnt help.C:\Users\schr>c:\msys32\usr\bin\bash.exe

This problem is probably due to using incompatible versions of the cygwin DLL.
Search for cygwin1.dll using the Windows Start->Find/Search facility
and delete all but the most recent version. The most recent version *should*
reside in x:\cygwin\bin, where 'x' is the drive on which you have
installed the cygwin distribution. Rebooting is also suggested if you
are unable to find another cygwin DLL.

After the second reboot things are back to normal.
