We are developing power monitoring smart devices using the ESP32 MCU. Each smart device must be able to publish its power measurements to a cloud service via the internet and receive commands from the cloud. We are also planning to develop a smart gateway device to connect all the devices to the cloud through the gateway.
1. Communication between the gateway device and the smart devices will be done via the ESP-NOW protocol.
2. Communication between the cloud and the gateway device will be done through the WiFi protocol.
I have few question related to this.
1. Do we need to use two ESP32 MCUs? Can an ESP32 device handle both the WiFi protocol and the ESP-NOW protocol at the same time ?
2. What is the best ESP MCU that can be used to implement gateway device ?
