Expand analog inputs

Hi, I'm building an interactive table consisting of seventy-six individual capacitive sensors. By capacitive sensors I mean copper strip glued to a piece of a 3d printed part. I'm fine when reading a single analog signal but I can't find anywhere a solution to read 50+ analog signals. So far, I found the 74HC4051 chip, but it doesn't quite solve my problem. Any ideas or advice on the topic would be appreciated.

you can use multiple ADG52xx series multiplexer ICs to read 50+ analog channels. The ADG52xx series offers multiplexer ICs with a high number of channels, such as the ADG5236 with 32 channels. By utilizing two of these multiplexer ICs, you can effectively handle more than 50 analog input channels.

Are you designing a giant trackpad or a keyboard type of application? If keyboard, you can look at using multiple chips like this one
https://www.azoteq.com/product/iqs7222b/
It can handle 18 mutual capacitance inputs.

I'll try first the ttp223 with a shift register first as is it seems the simples. If I can't extend the sensor working range enough, I'll try the other suggestions. Both are valid options in opinion and I'm thankful for the quick help.
Keep up the good work!
