Status of ESP32 WROOM Module

It has been a while since the announcements were made about the coming release of the WROOM 32 module, but I do not find it being sold anywhere.
The Espressif online store appears to not have it, and the only module currently available with the ESP32 chip seems to be the ESP3212 (for which I can't find mechanical dimensions).
Am working on a project which will contain a module with the ESP32 chip, but can't progress as a) can not be ordered, and b) can't be designed in....
Also, there are several people asking when the WROOM 32 will be available, and have not received an answer yet. (Smells like there is a problem with the ESP32 we are not being told about)

The problem at this point, as I understand it from my colleagues, is that the ESP32s were in short supply for a while. Big customers (like AI-Thinker, the guys who make the ESP3212s) had agreements with us that we had to fulfill first, making the amount of ESP32s we could spend on our own products fairly small. We just got a pretty big batch of ESP32s, so I expect the WROOM32 to be in store pretty quickly.

Thanks for the update.
Looking forward to the (hopefully soon) release of the WROOM-32s!

Is there any difference between the WROOM32 and ESP3212 mechanical design and pinout? They appear to be very similar.
ESP3212 has a different pinout, however Ai-Thinker is now also making the ESP32S. When I asked Ai-Thinker they told me the ESP32S is the same as the Espressif ESP-WROOM32. Sprite may know more details, but if you have specific questions about Ai-Thinker's modules it is best to ask them.

ESP3212 is discontinued. ESP32S has same footprint and pinout as ESP-WROOM-32 but slightly different layout and BOM.

WiFive, I asked seeed the other day for a status update and this is what they said
"Sincerely apologizes for the delay.
The shipment date would be on next Monday or Tuesday, around on Oct 25th.
So sorry for the troubles, however the supplier has their unavoidable reason, and in order to make up for the clients, supplier will send a ESP-32S adapter board as present too.
Will offer the tracking number after order shipped.
Sure it is still the ESP3212, will not be any changes here.
Thanks."
I replied with
"Thank you for the update.
Why send esp32s adapter boards for esp3212 modules when they are different footprints" (edited)"
So it' still a little confusing. I would prefer to get ESP32S anyway over the ESP3212.
Or WROOM32's ... hint hint

Hmmm, things are so fluid right now....
It looks like there is no point in counting on the ESP3212, and rather just focus on the ESP32(S), which actually make better sense, as one only needs a single footprint for either module.
Thanks for the info!
