if i connect my esp32 dev kit to my computer with the usb cable it works perfect but when i connect it to my external 3.3v 2A powersupply it does not work. It must be booting because I see the logo pop up on the oled display but thats it. the board does not connect to wifi or do anything that I have programmed it to do .
The red led power light remain dim and flickering.
is 2A not enough to power this board ?

Are you looking for a 5V USB power supply or do you want a 3.3V "direct" supply?
3.3V @ 2A is plenty, if a) the supply actually provides that current (more than a few 100mA) and b) you connect the 3.3V supply to the 3V3 pin of the board and not to the 5V pin, c.f. https://docs.espressif.com/projects/esp ... ly-options

Yeah, 2 Amps is heaps. It sounds like your connexions are wonky.
