ESP32-S2 Read from USB keyboard

I am desperately trying to find any example of an ESP32-S2 reading keystrokes from an attached USB keyboard in OTG.
I have searched non stop and tried so many different examples in both Arduino and ESP-IDF with no luck.
Before purchasing I saw a video clearly showing an attached keyboard being used but all I can find is examples for emulating a keyboard.
I have built a project using a ESP32 devkit reading an attached barcode scanner through a USB Host Shield to check that the correct product is being packed on an assembly line and sending the results to a SD card and TFT.
But it is reading to slow for some of the newer scanners so I wanted to use the dedicated USB.
