Connecting ESP32 to Phone via BLE without Third Party Serial Monitor App

All the Bluetooth related examples I have come across allowed the esp32 to successfully pair with the smartphone but does not allow us to connect to the smart phone via the Bluetooth settings section of the phone. We must connect by entering a specific app and then by selecting the correct Bluetooth server from the list. Can the esp32 Bluetooth (either in classical or BLE mode) be connected to a smartphone directly without the involvement of a third party mobile app such as a serial terminal available for Android?
