Licensing fees?

Hi
We're evaluating using the ESP32 in a small batch project that we might bring to market some time in the future, is there any licensing fees involved in using the ESP32 that we should be aware of

Hi Possan,
There is no licensing fee involved in Espressif product. Espressif don't charge any licensing fee from our users.
And yes, we are aware of some of the patents held by some companies, who sent out letters to customers requesting patent royalties.
Here are the facts about these companies:
1. Their licensing programs only cover finished products but NOT chipsets. They do not license patents to chip manufacturers.
2. In other words, Espressif cannot license from these patents. Neither do other chip manufacturers.
