Both Digikey and Mouser have the ESP32-WROVER-I module marked as "Not recommended for new designs". We have a design based around the ESP32-WROVER-I, so I'm trying to find information on this. Here are the questions I have.

• Is the ESP32-WROVER-I reaching end-of-life?
• Is there an announcement somewhere that explains this? I can't seem to find one.
• Is there a replacement for the ESP32-WROVER-I? Maybe the ESP32-WROVER-E?
• Is there any expected lifespan for a replacement module like the ESP32-WROVER-E?

Hi,

The main reason is because the ESP32-D0WD has a new revision (ESP32-D0WD-V3) and all modules based on the previous one will be discontinued. This revision is well documented and you don't need to change your product since all modules are fully compatible.

Take a look at the ordering information to see the recommended PN in case of NRND/end of life products.
