Good Starting Point

Postby Efried » Wed Dec 09, 2020 8:53 pm

Hello,

now I have bought several ESP boards but do no manage to do what I should do. For some the port is no visible, some stall after upload after resetting via RTS pin, or simular problems. This is a list of the boards:
M5 stick (clicking both buttons does not work)
FireFly ESP 2.6 (no port visible)
Lolin nodemcu V3 (hangs after resetting via RTS pin)
Firefly Lora boards (no port visible)
The arduino IDE throws a lot of java lang errors, this is a frustrating experience, esplorer crashes after connecting to the port,,,

For all the boards the procedure how to burn software on ist is not documented properly.

To read a bunch of DS18B20 and Post them to a website via LoRAWan, what would be the best technical solution?
I'm familiar doing python on M5Stack, but did not manage to read DS18B20 via micropython neither to use other firmware than UIflow.
Would buy a ready to use solution, if this is really that tricky
thanks a lot

It's pretty unusual for so many boards to fail... Are you sure the USB cable you use is good and thick enough, and that your computer can deliver enough power to the boards? Perhaps try a powered hub in between the computer and boards?
