I configure JTAG with openocd.I am using TIAO usb multi-protocol adapte.Error occur.
root@esp8266-VirtualBox:/mnt/Share/openocd-esp32# ./src/openocd -s ./tcl -f $IDF_PATH/docs/quantum.cfg
Open On-Chip Debugger 0.10.0-dev-g90071eb (2017-02-27-15:12)

adapter speed: 200 kHz

The following is quantum.cfg

ftdi_vid_pid 0x0403 0x8a98 0x0403 0x6010
ftdi_layout_init 0x0038 0x003b
transport select jtag
adapter_khz 200
source [find target/esp32.cfg]
esp108 flashbootstrap 3.3
I konw that engineers from espressif used TIAO usb multi-protocol adapte too.Can you give me some adive to sovle this problem?

You typically get that error when your wiring between the adapter and your board is wrong in some way. You may want to check that.

[wiring][E:\wiring.jpg]
My wiring is :
TCK ---> Quantum_IO13 (ESP32_MTCK_GPIO13)
TDI ---> Quantum_IO12 (ESP32_MTDI_GPIO12)
TDO ---> Quantum_IO15 (ESP32_MTDO_GPIO15)
TMS ---> Quantum_IO14 (ESP32_MTMS_GPIO14)
GND ---> ESP32_GND
ESP32-wroom-32 development borad powered by USB.And TIAO usb multi-protocol adapter board is powered by USB. I can't figure out any wrong with wiring.

Can you see if the VTAR_PWR LED on the Tumpa lights up? If not, you either need to connect Vtar to the ESP32's 3.3V or change the VT_SEL jumper to the other position.

VTAR_PWR LED is bright.

Then I don't see what has gone wrong... maybe put a scope on the signals, see if they're or not accidentally shorted or something... all I can say is that if your JTAG connection is OK, if your ESP32 has power and isn't held in reset, you should at all times see the two Tensilica core signatures; at the moment, you do not.

Hi

I'm having exactly the same issue as you did. Did you manage to figure it out?

Cheers
