FCC Certification when using ESPWROOM with other fcc certified radio module

Postby chansdad » Sat Dec 11, 2021 11:16 pm

Hello all

I am working on a board that will have ESPWROOM as well as another radio module which is also FCC certified . Has anyone used ESP along with other FCC certified module and how did you go about getting the host system using two FCC certified modules certified or comply with FCC IC regulations?

from what i have gathered it seems When multiple transmitters are incorporated within a single host, the transmitters are considered collocated. In order for the host to be certified, both of the transmitters must have grants that allow for collocation If a transmitter is being employed and its grant does not allow for collocation, the manufacturer may ask the grantee to file a Class II permissive change. The manufacturer may also file for a new FCC ID or a change in ID.4

Does any one know if ESP has already filed a class II Permissive change ?

Any help would be appreciated. I am not an electrical engineer or have knowledge of this FCC certification process , just trying to get a product i am getting done certified.

If they had, you would be able to see it in the FCC database. You will probably have to do change in ID first then file your own.
