We are looking to move to the ESP32 from an older ST module which is now obsolete. We'd evaluated the ESP32-WROOM-32E which seems to work well, but were looking at the newer C3 series as they are cheaper, have better Bluetooth and, well, are newer so more likely to be around for a while.
One thing I can't work out on these modules, does either UART support the AT command set, and if so, on which pins?
If not, is support planned at any point?
We'd prefer to use stock firmware if possible, unless there is a very easy way to update the modules - our assembly teams are mainly mechanical who just fit the PCB to our unit, we don't want them to get involved with programming anything.
Thanks!

I don't think the C3 modules come with any (usable) firmware straight from the factory... if you need that in there, you can either use esp-serial-flasher to flash any firmware to it from the host controller, or if you need enough modules you can arrange to buy pre-flashed modules by contacting sales@espressif.com.
