Logic Level Convertor

Can I check that my understanding is correct.

I bought one of these https://www.jaycar.co.nz/arduino-compat ... e/p/XC4486 originally thought I could use it to convert 3.3v to 5v for my IR Receiver module. Using the 3.3v pin on the ESP32 and wiring the IR receiver on the 5v side it appears to not work.

Is the reason because it did not work because the logic level converter requires a 5v power source to work?

It says it doesn't, actually... Can you also post what IR receiver you have? It may be possible to solve your issue in a simpler way.
