Board Targets in PIO and Arduino IDE- ESP32S2

Hello all,

I manage to install my Arduino with ESP32S2 support and now running code . Great!

Since I want to write more complex code, want to move back to PIO. For this, I would like to use same Dev Board in Arduino...

ESP32S2 Dev Board. Is this board also define in PIO ? I just find the Espressif Development Framework Options.

Is PIO supporting Arduino for the S2 family as well ?

maybe I formulate my question the other way around.


Why if Arduino IDE ( framework) supports a target this is not reflected 1 to 1 in PIO ?

It should not be like this ?

Because PIO is separate project not developed nor supported by espressif.

But i dont see problem to use PIO with esp32 S2 and arduino framework, which i do like many other people.
