I've got a native Macos arm64/M1 esp-idf toolchain built. Let me know if you have any trouble with it, but it's working for me.

I had trouble with zsh but ordinary install worked with bash
chsh -s /bin/bash
Big Sur now defaults to zsh.
Couldn’t get fish to work with IDF either
