Hi,
Bluetooth Low Energy Mesh has been adopted on July 13, 2017. I was wondering if/when the ESP32 will support that?
I see this as a big chance for Espressif; being among the first to support this new standard would be key selling point.
We are going to build an IoT product and are currently evaluating SoCs. The ESP32 looks very promising, but I really need Bluetooth AND Mesh support. Since the ESP32, to my understanding, lacks the ESP-Mesh I'm hesitating :\ (also, BLE mesh is superior to ESP-Mesh) However, if I knew that BLE Mesh is going to be implemented in the near future going for the ESP32 would be a no-brainer.
Otherwise, I'd have to look for another SoC.
Regards,
Michel

Howdy,
Would you be able to paste some reference links or other materials which would allow community followers to understand more about the technology to which you refer?

Since esp32 has some sort of support in zephyr os this may be interesting info:

Been there, unfortunately, Zephyr OS' support for ESP32 is very immature. AFAIK they don't even support regular Bluetooth yet.
Re: Bluetooth Low Energy Mesh support?
Many chip claims it support bluetooth mesh devlopment, but it seems there is no chip in the market that officially got bluetooth sig approval for supporting bluetooth 5 mesh yet?

Re: Bluetooth Low Energy Mesh support?
Silvair has a Bluetooth Mesh stack and it's compatible with the nRF52 SoC (https://www.silvair.com/stack/)
In Wikipedia, you can find a list of Mesh implementations that are officially qualified: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth ... mentations
You'll probably find a more up-to-date list on the Bluetooth SIG page itself, somewhere.
