Hi!
In the last few months I saw a lot of interesting custom components for the esp-idf appearing on Github and other source repositories. Unfortunately the only way to found them so far is to use Google... and when found, you have to manually download and add them in the /components folder of your project.
Are you planning to add something like the "Library Manager" in the Arduino IDE to the esp-idf?
Thanks
Component repository/manager?

Re: Component repository/manager?
Yes, we actually had plans for that from the start of ESP-IDF (which is also a reason the components are already pretty easy to exchange). It got stuck a bit because, well, getting esp-idf up to speed in general was more important, but we're picked this up again recently. Unfortunately I cannot give you any timeframe on when this will be finished, however.

Hi
glad to know that this feature is planned and you're working on it... I'm a developer of some Arduino libraries and I really like the way they are maintaining the list of the available libraries (github repository with a given structure + json file and issues to add libraries to the official repository) so maybe you can take inspiration from that!
thanks!
