Battery power 2 esp32

Postby NehnaMna3mela » Tue Apr 30, 2024 11:19 pm

I have a project that consists of an esp32 cam, esp32 wroom 32 pins, neo 6m gps module, hc sr04 ultrasonic sensor and max98357a i2s module. Everything works fine and as expected when plugged into a 5v adapter or directly into a PC or laptop however when I give the circuit 5v regulated voltage from a 18650 battery + step up converter, the boards won't boot and the brownout detector will be triggered. I know it's a power problem but it is crucial that the battery size be small, any idea how can I fix it ?
Ps: I made the wiring so that there is a 5v line and gnd line where everything connects to them and there is 1 powerbank I have that solves the problem but that powerbank is way too big for this project to be used

What are the total current required to run all that hardware at the same time ?
Even if you make it run it will not run for long with only one 18650 battery.
How long time do you expect to run it before replacing the battery ?

Try a better step-up converter, and a few (more) capacitors between 5V and GND.

10-15 minutes is more than enough run time on batteries.
I've tried about 5 types of step up converters none worked and I tried 18650 battery and lipo battery and those batteries for drones that have high current output (25C) and still wouldn't work.
I will try adding a couple capacitors and will see

Which step up converter are you using?

I tried 2 different power bank modules that did not work although I tested the output and it was steady 5v.
I also tried the mt3608 module and set the output voltage to 5.1v and still didn't work
