Factory reset - ESP32 "Timeout reached. Command aborted."

Postby Paquitoo » Tue Jun 13, 2017 9:40 pm

Hi all,
I got an ESP32 and after flashing with 1MB blank file it don't want to communicate with ESPlorer.
I folowed this procedure to erase my flash : http://www.pratikpanda.com/completely-f ... sh-memory/

Do I have deleted the system ?

The error I get when I use ESPlorer is Waiting answer from ESP - Timeout reached. Command aborted., I can read with the terminal, but can't send it anything.
I tried with another version of ESPlorer and nothing happened.

I tried with the Arduino IDE and it wotk, but I want ESPlorer...

Do you have a solution ?
I'm a newbie and english is not my motherthong, I don't really know how it work, I just know how to programme it... Is there a step by step explantation on how to reset and send a new clean firmware in it ?

Thanks

Paco

Esp8266 tools and tutorials don't work for esp32

Use https://github.com/espressif/esptool

Nothing serious has happened. You have just erased the Lua interpreter. It's not completely obvious, but it's a layer on top of the normal firmware. Putting it back is fairly simple. Here are the instructions for the ESP8266. I haven't tried it with an ESP32, and I don't know if the ESP8266 firmware would work. it might still be a work in progress to support ESP32.
