Our team has been using the ESP32 Wroom 32D module, which supports 2.4 GHz WiFi networks. However, we now requires a module that can support 5 GHz WiFi networks.
Through our research, we have discovered that the ESP32-C5 is capable of supporting 5 GHz WiFi networks. Before making the switch, we would like to confirm whether the pin-to-pin layout is compatible with the old ESP32 Wroom 32D module. Additionally, we would like to know if the coding style and other technical specifications are the same for the ESP32-C5 module.
Thank you in advance for your assistance. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Re: ESP32-C5 , 5-Ghz
There's a fair bit unknown here as the C5 has been announced but not mass produced yet, so take this with a grain of salt. Generally, the coding style will be similar to other ESP chips (assuming you use ESP-IDF although it probably goes for other SDKs as well.) There's not much known yet about any modules with this chip, but I certainly would not assume the pinout will be similar; if there's any similarities, I'd expect it to be with a ESP32C6 or ESP32S3 module rather than the older ESP32 module.

Re: ESP32-C5 , 5-Ghz
Any update on when the C5 will be available?
Re: ESP32-C5 , 5-Ghz
I am also curious when this will be available. I am seeing mid-2022 the press release and on other ESPDev forums it is exclusively availalbe. If this is exlusive, then how does one sign up for ESP32-C5 dev kits? Thank you!
