Which of these ESP32 microcontrollers is better?

In the process of moving across the country this summer and deciding what to throw away vs pack, I tossed my custom Christmas light rig. Now I'm trying to rebuild and I've got two ESP32 microcontrollers in my tool kit but I don't know which I should use or even if there's a noticeable difference. The first one is labeled "ESP32-WROOM-32D". The second one has a generic "ESP32" label but has an "FCC ID 2A4RQ-ESP32". I tried using "Tools -> Get Board Info" but that information is not helpful.

How can I compare these to choose the best option?

Board info for both is

Code: Select all

BN: Unknown board
VID: 0x10C4
PID: 0xEA60
SN: 0001

Probably no difference, especially for a simple task like driving christmas lights.
