ESP32 D1 Mini and Battery Shield

Can anyone see anything wrong with doing the following
Removing the USB connector from the battery shield and connecting VCC(5v) and GND to the USB D+ and D- connectors
Schematically
When the ESP32 is powered from the USB it also provides regulated 5v input to the charger. Without USB power and a battery connected the charger provides the power to the ESP32
