ESP32-C3-DevKitC-02 Serial Port not detected

Hi,

I bought two of the above boards recently and I couldn't detect any COM ports on both boards. I have tried it on MacOS, Windows and Ubuntu, on M1 Macbook and another AMD Ryzen-based laptop (Acer Swift 3), used 3 different USB cables, but nothing worked.

The board has CP2102 USB-serial bridge and I have installed the drivers. On Ubuntu, I made sure the kernel driver module is loaded, but there's no detection at all. Nothing blinked, no extra messages in dmesg when I plug in & out.

The boards seem working as the LEDs light up. The bigger LED toggles ON/OFF when I press the "Boot" button.

Am I missing anything or do I have faulty boards?

Well, guess what? I bought a new USB cable and now everything works, at least on the M1 Macbook.

Not sure what happened. The original 3 cables I used are definitely data cables as I used them with an Arduino Nano 33. But they were maybe a little old?
