ESP-NOW expected to work in rain/fog conditions?

Hello,
I am working on a project where I want to send a single boolean value from a Tx to Rx to control a solenoid. I am exploring using ESP-NOW as a possible communication option and I have a question: will ESP-NOW work in rain/fog conditions?
From what I have read 2.4GHz signals are absorbed by water, which is a big problem. However, I only need this to work at minimum = 20m and maximum = 50m. With an omnidirectional antenna, I can expect ~500m in open air ideal conditions with ESP-NOW, so I am wondering how much of that 500m would I lose in rain/fog? Would it still be usable at 20-50m in rain/fog?
