Arduino ESP32 Library 2.0.2 - Enable external xtal for RTC

Hello,
In the past, I have re-compiled the ESP32 arduino library binaries (ie. 1.0.4 version ) via ESP-IDF, using the arduino-esp32 source code to enable an external xtal for the RTC timer for an ESP32. I used the instructions on other forum posts to perform this compilation.
Typically, after setting the RTC oscillator for an extenal xtal, via the make menuconfig, the generated file lib32esp.a was replaced into my arduino esp32 board binaries, and everything worked good.
But in the current version (ie. arduino-esp32 - 2.0.2 version), the binaries generated doesn't generate the older lib32esp.a file, which typically contained the needed changes to enable the external RTC xtal oscillator.
Not sure if someone has done this in the current version and It could pointed out which files needs to be replaced, or explain how to activate the external xtal oscillator for the RTC timer.
Thanks in advance
