Seeedstudio offers the Spartan Edge Accelerator Board, a combination of FPGA and ESP32, as an Arduino shield.
I asked Seeedstudio if the controlling Arduino could be replaced by the onboard ESP32 and got the following answer: "It supports ESP32 as MCU theoretically. But we do not provide any software development support. We suggest you use the Arduino as MCU. Thanks."
I do not need an Arduino to drive the FPGA if I have an ESP32 on the board already. What do you think about it?

Re: Spartan Edge Accelerator Board
Sounds silly, especially since the ESP32 has a perfectly good Arduino environment.
