Hello
I am using Arduino IDE on Visual Studio 2019 with Visual Micro ( but same in standard IDE). I have some code which was working ok on breadboard with an old ESPdevkit I had. Ive now made some PCB and bought some new Devkit C modules. After programming the unit worked as expected, but having unplugged it, it now sees port in list, but will not connect, and gives a 'Port not Available' message.
I have checked that GPIO 0 and EN are both normally high. Also checked that GPIO1212 is LOW. I also cannot see any activity on these lines when selecting port.
I still suspect DTR/CTS but not sure how I can change them. Lots of posts say set terminal to Disable DTR/RTS but no one says how!!
Have I just been unlucky, and Ive got a dead board, or am I doing/not doing something obvious.
Help please
Steve
Cant find Serial Port after download
Re: Cant find Serial Port after download
This is your own custom built PCB with your own USB serial IC onboard ?
Re: Cant find Serial Port after download
Hi Mike,
No Im using a Devkit C bought from Mouser, so hopefully the real thing. My original one was from ebay, so origin unknown Found that was cheaper than making my own.
Thanks for your interest

Re: Cant find Serial Port after download
I had the same problem with Visual Studio 2019 with Visual Micro. Back then (as I no longer use these) I switched to PlatfomIO, and never had problems since.
