Any update on WPA2 connection bug?

Is there any timeline for a fix? Should we still be expecting a fix at all...?

Considering how common WPA2 is and how many people opt for ESP32 for WiFi functionality, I would've thought this would be an issue of the highest priority.

(For those unaware: ESP32+WPA2 connection to WiFi network takes a very long time, 1-5s, while ESP32+WEP or even ESP8266+WPA2 may take only 100-300ms with all other conditions being equal.)
