ESP32 DevkitV1 not recognized by Arduino IDE, despite being recognized by device manager

Postby kentum » Sat Aug 20, 2022 5:42 pm

I have an ESP32 DevkitV1, which worked just a month or so ago. I am using the same cable (one that I know has data wires) to connect to the ESP32. On my device manager the serial communication chip of the ESP32 is recognized (it shows up as "Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge") and if I go to "update driver" for that port it tells me my drivers are up to date. I've tried restarting my computer with all devices disconnected, I've tried re-installing the drivers; nothing has worked. The ESP32 still runs the code that I last put on it just fine though, so if it's broken it's on the serial communication chip. What might be the issue?

Thanks in advanced for your help
