you can use it for your esp-idf compiler version
see instruction for setup

rudi ;-),

Searching for an IDE to use with C++ on ESP32, I Googled your Dev-C++ work. I use Linux, so I suppose that I am out of luck in using Dev-C++. But I would nonetheless like to know why it appeals to you for ESP32 development. Why else would you invest effort creating the support package?

Most likely I will go for Eclipse simply because so many others are using it and so might be helpful if I encounter problems. On the other hand, I have heard complaints about Eclipse. What are your thoughts on Dev-C++ vs. Eclipse? If Dev-C++ were not available, what would be your IDE choice, and why?
