ESP32-S3 Fails to turn LCD on when using SPI FLASH/PSRAM in Quad mode

Postby migmel » Fri Nov 17, 2023 6:12 am

Hello, I have a custom board working with a graphic user interface. The board is based on ESP32-S3 ..R8 /QFN56 SoC. The in-package SPI FLASH/PSRAM was working in Octal mode (8-lines data).
The original SoC was replaced by a similar ESP32-S3 /QFN56 (non-R8). Pinout is the same, only difference is that the new SoC does not have a in-package SPI FLASH/PSRAM, so an external SPI FLASH/PSRAM was used, and set it to work in Quad mode.
Almost every aspect of the same application works fine except by the LCD which does not start.
The only soft modification I have made is to change PSRAM to Quad mode in the menuconfig. FLASH/PSRAM are detected correctly
Now I am out of ideas in what might be happening that keeps the LCD from starting.
Can anybody help me to realize where the problem might be ?Any help, suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

I reckon this was a hardware problem, not need to answer this question
Thank you
